Community Overview
Yorkville is a town of about 4,600 approx.50 miles west of downtown Chicago. The village is the county seat for Kendall County. Recreational opportunities include the facilities and programs of the Yorkville Recreation Department, Yorkville Lions Swim Club, and Fox Valley Family YMCA. There also are facilities for golf, bowling, canoeing, and outdoor education (Hoover Outdoor Education Center). School children attend district 115, which serves K-12th. grade students in Yorkville and surrounding areas. *See below for details on schools.
Transportation needs are served by nearby highways (I-80, I-55, I-88) and major local roads (U.S. Rt. 34, IL 47). Commuter service to downtown is provided by Metra on the Burlington Northern (BN) line. The RTA Travel Info. Number is 1-800-972-7000.
