Schaumburg Community Guide
Community Overview
Schaumburg is a village of about 70,000 29 miles northwest of downtown Chicago. Schaumburg has a mix of residential, industrial, and commercial development, including well-known Woodfield Mall. Recreational and Cultural opportunities include an active Park District Program and the offerings of the Schaumburg Prairie Center for the Arts, located in the Municipal Center. Grade school-aged children attend district 54. District 211's Schaumburg High School serves secondary students. (See below for details on schools).
Transportation needs are served by area highways (I-355/North-South Tollway, I-90/Northwest Tollway), and major local roads (Woodfield Rd., Golf Rd.). Commuter service to downtown is provided by the Metra-Milwaukee District West Line (MD-W). Travel time to the downtown Chicago station is about 32 minutes (express).
