Community Overview
New Lenox is a village of about 12,000 40 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. It is a growing community, undergoing residential development, but still retaining a rural flavor with the farmland to the northwest. Recreational opportunities include the programs of the Park District. Grade school-aged children attend New Lenox elementary school district 122 schools, while secondary students attend Lincoln-Way High School, district 210. (See below for details on schools).
Transportation needs are served by area highways (I-57, I-80),and major local roads (Cedar Rd., U.S. 30/Lincoln Hwy.). Commuter service to downtown is provided by the Metra Rock Island Line (RI).
