Montgomery Community Guide
Community Overview
Montgomery is a town of about 5,000 in the Fox River Valley, 40 miles west of downtown Chicago. As in North Aurora, Montgomery children attend Aurora West schools (districts 129 or 131). Two District 308U schools are located in Montgomery. Montgomery's Coffeen Lake is popular for fishing and the Phillips Park Family Aquatic Center and neighboring Golf Course, on Montgomery's border with Aurora, is popular with swimmers and golfers. Residents can also take advantage of the programs and facilities of the Fox Valley Park District in Aurora.
Transportation needs are served by area highways ((East-West Tollway (I-88)) and major local roads (Routes 30, 31, and 25). Commuter service to downtown is provided by Metra at the Aurora station on the Burlington Northern (BN) line. Express service takes about 50 minutes to downtown Chicago.
