Maywood Community Guide
Community Overview
Maywood is a village of about 27,000 10 miles west of downtown Chicago. While primarily residential, Maywood encourages industrial development with tax incentives and other assistance to businesses. Recreational opportunities include nearby forest preserves and the offerings of the Park District. Grade school children attend schools in districts 88 or 89, while secondary students go to Proviso East or West High Schools in district 209. (See below for details on schools).
Transportation needs are served by area highways (I-290/Eisenhower Expwy.),and major local roads (Roosevelt Rd., First Ave.). Commuter service to downtown is provided by Metra.
