Community Overview
Glenwood is a village of about 6,500 23 miles south of downtown Chicago. Recreational opportunities include the programs of the Park District. Grade school-aged children attend schools in district 167, while secondary students go to Bloom Township High School, district 206 or Homewood-Flossmoor High School, district 233 (See below for details on schools).
Transportation needs are served by area highways (I-294/Tri-State Tollway, I-394/Calumet Expwy.), and major local roads (Rte. 83). Commuter service to downtown is provided by the Metra Electric Line (ME) in Flossmoor or the South Shore train in Hammond. Travel time to the downtown Chicago station is about 38 minutes (express).
