Community Overview
Forest Park is a village of about 15,000 10 miles west of downtown Chicago. The town has a mix of residential, business, and commercial/retail development, including Hillside Mall. Recreational opportunities include Park District programs. Grade school-aged children attend district 91 schools, while secondary students go to Proviso East in district 209. (See below for details on schools).
Transportation needs are served by area highways (I-88/East-West Tollway, I-290/Eisenhower Expwy.), and major local roads (Harlem Ave., Cermak Rd., Roosevelt Rd.). Commuter service to downtown is provided by Metra in Oak Park. Travel time to the downtown Chicago station is about 20 minutes. Local bus service is available from PACE. The RTA Travel Info.
