Cicero Community Guide
Community Overview
Cicero is a town of about 67,500 6 miles west of downtown Chicago. Its proximity to the city makes it popular with commuters. Recreational opportunities include the Park District's programs. Grade school-aged children attend district 99 schools, while secondary students go to Morton East High School, district 201. (See below for details on schools).
Transportation needs are served by area highways (I-290/Eisenhower Epxwy., I-55/Stevenson Expwy.), and major local roads (Cermak Ave., Harlem Ave.). Train service to downtown is provided by the CTA Douglas line and by Metra (Burlington line, stations at Cicero Ave. & Austin Blvd.). Travel time to the downtown Chicago station is about 25 minutes.
