Community Overview
Bridgeview is a village of about 57,000 15 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. Bridgeview has a balanced mix of commercial, industrial and residential development. Recreational/Educational Opportunities include the programs at the Park District, the Public Library and the Community Center. Most schoolchildren attend district 109 schools, and go on to Argo Community High School, district 217. (See below for details on schools).
Transportation needs are served by area highways (I-294/Tri-State Tollway, I-94/Dan Ryan Expwy., I-57), and major local roads (Cicero Ave., 95th. St.). Commuter service to downtown is provided by Metra's Rock Island Line in Oak Lawn, Summit or Oak Forest. Travel time to the downtown Chicago station is about 35 minutes. The center offers recreational, educational and health-related programs and services for all ages. Facilities include two meeting rooms, a craft room, a gym with stage, a game room, offices, and a kitchen. Children can participate in Tumbling, Soccer, Cub Scouts, and Homework Help. Programs for adults include Weight Watchers, Sewing Club, and Neighborhood Watch. Senior Meetings and Senior Movies are held here. The Cook County Department of Health holds Immunization Clinics at the center. Some community organizations, such as American Legion, Lions Club and Hamfester meet at the center. Bingo is offered every Wednesday night.
