Bloomingdale Community Guide
Community Overview
Bloomingdale is a town of around 19,000 located 25 miles west of downtown Chicago. A variety of retail establishments and corporate businesses including Mary Kay Cosmetics and Motorola Microwave are located in its Covington Business Park. Grade schoolchildren attend schools in districts 13 and 15. Some Junior High students attend Stratford Junior High in district 93. Secondary students go to Lake Park High School, district 108. (See below for details on schools).
Transportation needs are served by area highways ((Eisenhower Expwy. - I-290, Tri-State (I-294), North/South Tollway (I-355), East-West Tollway (I-88)) and major local roads (Route 20 - Lake St., Bloomingdale/Roselle Rd.). Commuter service to downtown is provided by Metra at the Glen Ellyn, Wheaton or Roselle stations. Travel time to downtown Chicago is 45-55 minutes from the Roselle station (express).
