Community Overview
Bedford Park is a small village just north of Burbank. It is about 14 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. Recreational Opportunities include the programs of the Park District (ceramics and gymnastics for children, fitness for women, open gym for the public; programs open to residents only). Grade school children attend Walker School in district 104, while secondary students go to Reavis High School, district 220.*See below for details on schools.
Transportation needs are served by area highways (I-294/Tri-State Tollway, I-94/Dan Ryan Expwy., I-57), and major local roads (Cicero Ave., 79th. St., 87th. St., Central Ave., Narragansett Ave.). Commuter service to downtown is provided by Metra's Norfolk & Western Line and by Amtrak in nearby Summit. Travel time to the downtown Chicago station is about 35 minutes.
