Warrick to Swearingin
This indenture made this fourteenth day of July One thousand eight hundred and one, Between Andrew Swearingin and Mary his wife of the County of Montgomery and state of Kentucky of the one part and Jacob Warrick of the County of Fleming and state aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that this said Andrew Swearingin and Mary his wife for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred pounds to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge, have bargained and sold to the said Jacob Warrick and his heirs and assigns forever, a certain tract or parcel of land containing seven hundred and thirteen acres, be the same more or less, lying and being in the county of Fleming, and on Licking River and the place where said Warrick now lives, and bounded as followeth to wit: Beginning at a black walnut, sugartree and Birch on the bank of the river and running down with the meanders- thereof north eighty degrees, West eighteen poles, South seventy two poles, West twenty two , South thirty two, West thirty two, South twenty, West forty nine poles, North seventy, West ninety two poles, North seventy five, West sixty eight poles, North thirty five, West seventeen poles, North fifty, West eighteen poles to a large Elm at the mouth of a ? Thence North thirty five West thirty eight poles, South seventy five, West twenty six poles, South sixty, West forty two poles to an Elm and hickory. Thence South 50 degrees, West twenty six poles, North seventy eight, West twenty two poles, North sixty, West one hundred poles, West twenty poles to a Black Oak & beech on the bank of the river. Thence with the old line, North two hundred and thirty poles to three white oaks. Thence south eighty two degrees, East five hundred poles, Thence South one hundred and eighty four poles to the Beginning, to him with all its appurtenances, thereunto belonging, and we the said Andrew Swearingin and his wife Mary doth oblige themselves, their heirs and assigns to warrant and will forever defend said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances against a claim or claims whatever, of any other person or persons. As witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and fixed our seals this day and date above written.
