Cartmill to Bailey Deed
This indenture made and entered into this the thirteenth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & thirty (1830) between Andrew Cartmill and Nancy, his wife, of the County of Bath and State of Kentucky of the one part and William Bailey of the County and State aforesaid of th other part. Witnesseth that the said Andrew Cartmill & Nancy, his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of seventeen dollars & eleven cents lawfull money of the aforesaid State, to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, sold & conveyed unto the aforesaid William Bailey, his heirs and assigns forever and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the aforesaid William Bailey, his heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being in the County of Bath and State afo=
resaid on the waters of Prickley Ash and bounded as follows. To wit: Beginning at a stake on William Bailey's line, thence N 70 degrees E forty poles to three small elms, thence South 16 poles to a red oak, thence South 35 West fourteen poles to two white oaks, thence South 48 W 44 poles to a stake, thence with Bailey's line to the place of Beginning, containing seven acres two roods and thirty six poles to have and to hold the tract or parcel of land hereby conveyed with all and singular the premises and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the said Andrew Cartmill & Nancy, his wife, for themselves their heirs & assigns unto the aforesaid William Bailey, his heirs and assigns forever the aforesaid tract or parcel of land doth and forever warrant, defend against themselves their heirs and every other person or persons whatever and against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons. It being clearly understood that if the aforesaid tract or parcel of land shall ever be taken or lost by any claim, then and in that case the said Andrew Cartmill & Nancy, his wife, is bound to refund the purchase money without interest in proportion to such loss.

Sudduth Clerk of the County for said County do certify that this deed from Andrew Cartmill & Nancy, his wife, to William Bailey was on this day acknowledged before me by said Cartmill to be his hand and seal, act & deed, whereupon the same to gether with foregoing certificate hath been duly admitted to record in my office. Given under my hand this 15th Sept 1830
