Andrew CARTMELL was born Mar 1766 in Greenbrier, Virginia. He died

12 Sep 1832 in Sangamon, Illinois.

Illinois. Andrew Cartmell went to Bath county, Kentucky when he was

a young man. nancy was taken to Bath by her parents in 1780. They

married and had eight children in Kentucky then moved to Sangamon,

Illinois, arriving 10 oct 1829.

Her children came to Sangamon with their grandfather cartmell. Her

son, Thomas, was a soldier in the 4th Ill. Inf. and was killed in

1847, in the Mexican war.
