AMUEL PINKERTON:The name Samuel is suggested because of the 1850 Madison County census, page 418, which includes : Samuel M. Pinkerton, age 51, carpenter, born VA; and Thomas Pinkerton, age 18, carpenter, born IL.
Samuel buried in Alton Cemetery, 1853. (according to information from a lookup in Madison County cemetery book.)
Marriage Index for IL, IN cd included: Samuel Pinkerton married to Mrs. Mary Jane Summer, Aug. 12, 1850. Mary Jane Summers is listed in the 1850 Madison County census on page 419. She is living with George Levi(?)

ARTHA A. PINKERTON:In the 1850 Madison County census, there is a Martha Pinkerton, age 12 listed living with Joseph and Olivia A. Noble, AND Martha Pinkerton age 12, and Henry Pinkerton, age 18, living with Daniel and Sarah (Pinkerton)Sulivan. I believe both Sarah and Olivia Adeline are sisters to Martha. I think that Henry is not correct, and it is Thomas.
