Join together in Baker City, Oregon July 4th and 5th, 2003 This is a note to keep you up on the what's happening with the plans for the 2003 Wellman Family Reunion. Our get together is planned for Friday, July 4, and Saturday, July 5, at the Senior Center in Baker City, Oregon. The schedule below is tentative, and you will be receiving a final schedule in the near future. But we wanted you to start making plans to make this the best dang blasted reunion ever!!!
Friday, July 4th, 2003
10:00 A.M. Haines 4th of July Parade. Let's get the family together in the restored Wellman horse drawn wagon and participate in the Haines' parade. If you want to participate, parade line up starts at 9:00 a.m. (Haines is a community just a few miles from Baker and all from the area make Haines their 4th of July destination.)
Afternoon Meet at the Baker Senior Center to renew old, and make new family acquaintances. Games, horseshoes, croquet and more. Time for tours or visit the local museum, and the Oregon Trail Center.
6:00 p.m. 4th of July Picnic at Baker City Senior Center This holiday wouldn't be complete without a great picnic. So plan for barbeque with lots of hotdogs and hamburgers, potato salad and watermelon, and a great time getting to share this patriotic day! Wellman friends are also welcome to attend this 4th of July fare. More games, karaoke and just chatting.
10:00 p.m. Fireworks at Haines!
Saturday, July 5th
8:00 a.m. Senior Center Stan Wellman and crew Sourdough Pancake Breakfast!!! You won't want to miss this. What a way to start your day!
11:00 a.m. to Noon Senior Center Family researchers can take time to compare notes and see how deep those roots go! Those not so familiar with their ancestors can take advantage of these researchers and learn about their past! Bring your Wellman Family photos, memorabilia and share the family history!!!
Afternoon Take time to visit with everyone; and more time for tours of Baker Valley. Snacks at the Senior Center
5:00 p.m. Senior Center Wellman Family Dinner Potluck dinner to celebrate the Wellman Family. Everyone bring hotdishes, salads, and/or desserts
6:00 p.m. All be present for Wellman Family photos
7:00 p.m. Auction and sharing of talents!
9:00 p.m. Clean up Senior Center

Also, we need to know if you are interested in an auction to raise money to pay for costs for the reunion. A family could bring either a special item for the auction, or an item for a silent auction. Let us know if you think this sounds like fun.
