July 2005

One day in July 2005, Auntie Renee (of the Renegades) came from Texas to Seattle on vacation.  She stayed at the Inn at Queen Anne hotel.

It was her birthday, so she and mymom taked the Victoria Clipper to Victoria BC to visit Auntie Melinda and Unca John and the Royal Roads Greenhouse Kitties and Auntie Diane and Ember.  It was a beautiful summer day.

The castle at Royal Roads

They went through the Royal Roads University gardens where Unca John is the gardener.  They saw water and trees and flowers and kitties and peahens and chicks and in the university museum they even saw a picture of Unca John playing rugby a long time ago.

Then they went to Ember's house, where Auntie Diane fixed them lunch.  It was real exciting because Auntie Renee got locked inna hoomin litterbox room and Auntie Diane and Unca John hadda figger out how to get the door unlocked.  It was a advenchur.  (Auntie Renee said it was a real nice litterbox room and had pretty paint onna walls, but she didn't want to spend her whole birthday there.  As somekitties said, hoomins should just leave doors open and then this wouldn't happen!)

After lunch, the Aunties went looking for shoppurrtunities.  They went to the Royal BC Museum and bought all sorts of sooven-ears.  They went to Chinatown and walked down Fan Tan Alley wif lots of mysterious little shops.  They went to a street market and mymom bought a silver and lapis lazuli goddess to wear around her neck.  They went to bookstores and teashops and bought books and tea and postcards.
