One of Alberta's oldest cities, founded in 1892 and incorporated as a city in 1906. This city has maintained its link to the past through the restoration of its historic landmarks as well as through the development of its museums.
This city hosts Pioneer Days each year in August. An old-fashioned country fair including amusement rides, a parade, live entertainment and much, much more! Loons, a 9-hold gold course is located directly across fromt the Lions campground. Other recreational facilities include a beautifully maintained 18-hole public golf course, four tennis courts, eight ball diamonds, two sand volleyball courts, one football field, an indoor swimming pool, bowling alley, and bingo halls.
