Our Dance of Life

In the Lord Continues

The day we were looking forward to finally came. After three years, we made our final commitment to the Lord. It truly was a day of celebration. The fact that our Dad, who was dying of cancer, was able to be with us that day, made it even more special! A day never to be forgotten!

On this special day, we received a ring, which is a true symbol of our dedication to God. We continually give praise and thanks!

For many years we both enjoyed teaching in parochial schools. For the past seventeen years we have been serving the Lord as Pastoral Ministers in small rural parishes.

A milestone in our religious life was celebrating 25 years of dedicated service as Precious Blood Sisters.

Our Family surprised us on our 40th Anniversary. That year the annual Family Reunion was dedicated to our honor. How great to celebrate with family!

On May 21, 2006 along with three other classmates, we celebrated our Golden Jubilee. What a milestone in our Religious Life as Sisters of the Most Precious Blood of O'Fallon, Missouri! Family and friends came to share in our celebration! It was an unforgettable day!

In 1995 our Community celebrated 150 years! Our archivists, Sister Virginia Volkerding, told us that we are the only set of twins in the history of our Community.

There were two other sets of twins who entered the convent, but of the Gibbens sisters one left. (early 1900's) Of the Stier set of twins, one of the them left in 1880 to join the Sisters in Ruma, Illinois. So we consider ourselves as very unique!

We make a special invitation to all of you TWINS out there, and of course, to other young women who are discerning about a vocation to religious life. To learn more about our Precious Blood Community enter through our Community Ring.
