GRANNY'S PIE CRUST

4 Cups     Plain Flour
1              Beaten egg
1 3/4 Cup Shortening (Crisco)
1/2 Cup    Water (Chilled)
1 Tsp.       Baking Powder
1 Tbsp.    Salt
1 Tbsp.    Vinegar

Mix flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar.  Mix/cut in shortening. 
Add beaten egg, water, and vinegar.
Mix lightly.

Makes 4 large or 5 small crusts.  Use now or cover and keep in refrigerator.

Bake at 400 degrees until brown.

I usually form dough into balls and cover tightly with plastic wrap before storing in refrigerator.   Makes it easy to mix filling and have a "fresh from the oven pie" for guests or family.
