Deuteronomy 4: 9 However, take care and be earnestly on your guard not to forget the things which your own eyes have seen, nor let them slip from your memory as long as you live, but teach them to your children and to your children's children.
Tobias 1:10 and from his infancy he taught him to fear God, and to abstain from all sin.
Proverbs 1: 8 Hear, my son, your father's instruction, and reject not your mother's teaching;
Proverbs 3:1-2 My son forget not my teaching, keep in mind my commands; for many days, and years of life, and peace, will they bring you.
Proverbs 3:11-12 The discipline of the Lord, my son, disdain not; spurn not his reproof; for whom the Lord loves he reproves, and he chastises the son he favors.
Proverbs 4:1-6 "Hear, O children, a father's instruction, be attentive, that you may gain understanding! Yes, excellent advice I give you; my teaching do not forsake. When I was my father's child, frail, yet the darling of my mother, he taught me, and said to me: "Let your heart hold fast my words! Keep my commands, do not forget; go not astray from the words of my mouth.
Proverbs 5: 1-2 My son, to my wisdom be attentive, to my knowledge incline your ear, that discretion may watch over you, and understaanding may guard you.
Proverbs 6:20-23 Observe, my son, your father's bidding, and reject not your mother's teaching; keep them fastened over your heart always, put them around your neck; for the bidding is a lamp, and the teaching a light, and a way of life are the reproofs of discipline;
Proverbs 10:1 The proverbs of Solomon: A wise son makes his father glad, but a foolish son is a grief to his mother.
Proverbs 13:1 A wise son loves correction, but the senseless one heeds no rebuke.
Proverbs 13:22 The good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the just.
Proverbs 13:24 He who spares his rod hates his son, but he who loves him takes care to chastise him.
Proverbs 20:7 When a man walks in integrity and justice, happy are his children after him!
Proverbs 22:6 Train up a boy in the way which he should go; even when he is old, he will not swerve from it
Proverbs 23:15 My son, if your heart be wise, my own heart also will rejoice and my inmost being will exult, when your lips speak what is right.
Proverbs 23:22-25 Listen to your father who begot you, and despise not your mother when she is old. Get the truth, and sell it not -- wisdom, instruction and understanding. The father of a just man will exult with glee; he who begets a wise son will have joy in him. Let your father and mother have joy, let her who bore you exult.
Proverbs 25: 12 Like a golden earring, or a necklace of fine gold, is a wise reprover to an obedient ear.
Sirach 7:27-28 With your whole heart honor your father; your mother's birthpangs forget not. Remember of these parents you were born; what can you give them for all they gave you?
Sirach 30:1- 3 Hewho loves his son chastises him often, that he may be his joy when he grows up! He who disciplines his son will benefit from him, and boast of him among his intimates. He who educates his son makes his enemy jealous, and shows his delight in him among his friends.
Sirach 30:7- 9 He who spoils his son will have wounds to bandage, and will quake inwardly at every outcry. A colt untamed turns out stubborn; a son left to himself grows up unruly. Pamper your child and he will be a terror for you, indulge him and he will bring you grief.
New Testament
St. Matthew 7:11 Therefore, if you, evil as you are, know how to give good giftss to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
St. Matthew 19:19 Honor thy father and mother. And, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
Ephesians 5:1-2 Be you, therefore, imitators of God, as very dear children and walk in love, as Christ also loved us and delivered himself up for us an offering and a sacrifice to God to ascend in fragrant odor.
Ephesians 6:4 And you, fathers do not provoke your children to anger, but rear them in the discipline and admonition of the Lord.
Colossians 3:20-21 Children, obey your parents in all things, for that is pleasing in the Lord. Fathers, do do provoke your children to anger, that they may not be discouraged.
1 Thessalonians 2:11-12 inasmuch as you are aware of how we entreated and comforted each one of you, acting towards you as a father towards his children, declaring to you that you should walk worthily of God, who called you unto his kingdom and glory.
