Hi there Dad. This one's for you. Well guess everything you taught me has finally sunk in. I know at times I was rebellious and didn't always listen, but you were always there for me and I really appreciate everything you've done. You are one of a kind and the best father in the world.         TO MY DAD

        You were there when I was born
        You held me gently in your arms
        You kissed my mom and thanked her
        For the precious gift of a new born child
        An instant bond was formed between us
        A love and trust that would grow stronger
        With each and every year that passed
        We share a special closeness, an understanding
        A unique relationship which is reserved
        For a father and his daughter.

        Dad you've taught me many lessons
        Throughout my growing years
        Sometimes I listened, sometime I didn't
        Even then, you always stood by me
        To you I was constantly a sweet little angel
        You never saw my faults, only my perfection
        In your eyes I could never do no wrong
        It was always someone else's fault, not mine
        You were blinded by your love for me
        A child, your own flesh and blood to hold.

        You taught me not to judge or be critical of others
        To perpetually give them, the benefit of the doubt
        To look for the good in each and every person
        For you always said, the good outweighed the bad
        You taught me how to love, and show respect to all
        To give freely of myself, expecting nothing in return
        You taught me how to stand alone, to trust my instincts
        To lead others instead of having them lead me
        But the lesson I learned first and always will hold near
        Is to put my trust in God, for never will he fail me.

        The years have passed, I'm grown up now
        And yet, I know, that things will never change
        I'll always be your little girl, your very precious angel
        You still protect me, making sure no harm is near
        Your hugs and words still warm and comfort me
        Your understanding and sensitivity still make me cry
        The closeness that we share, is stronger now than ever
        It grows with each new year, whether we are far or near
        I know God has hand in this, this is his reward to us
        The love and closeness a dad and daughter share.

        The lessons that you've taught me, are embedded in brain
        I cherish them and always try to do my best to live by them
        I'll teach them to my children, your grandkids, when they come
        For to me they are a legacy, to be pass on down the line
        And even after we are gone, your lessons will live on
        For with each new generation the learning will begin
        The love, respect and kindness will grow and spread
        Until the whole world learns, to live in peaceful harmony
        All these because of lessons which you passed on to me
        Lessons that were taught by our precious Lord above.
