First, allow me to introduce myself:

In case you haven't caught it already, my name is Brunetta Lafara Lingg. I spent the first thirteen years of my life as a Buck Private. Dad retired as a Chief Warrant Officer, Grade Two, U. S. Army.

My first relocation was to Kaiserslautern, Germany when I was four, so I had three years of schooling (K-2) in Germany. Once we returned stateside, however, I spent every school year until the seventh grade in a different school: 2nd Grade San Francisco - they made me repeat it - said I was too young; 3rd Grade, Ft. Lewis; 4th Grade, San Francisco (Dad was on tour in Korea); 5th Grade, Ft. Lewis; and 6th Grade (through 12th Grade), University Place, Washington.

I was one of the lucky ones, though - all of Dad's relocations were made during the summer so I was always able to put in a complete school year. Even more so, my Dad always came home.

Over the years, I've shared experiences with other Military Brats. Sometimes, I was seeking to understand myself. Other times, it was just because we shared a common background. Recently, I met another Military Brat and shared experiences with him. This time, it started me thinking...

Am I the only one who enjoys sharing experiences? Or do the rest of you also enjoy it? Would it be nice to have a Web Page set up where we can share our experiences? The good times and the bad times. The happy memories and the sad memories.

Personally, I think it would be a benefit not just to us - giving us the chance to share - but also to civilians - and even to those parents who are just now raising up the next generation of Military Brats. I would be willing to set up and maintain the page - but not unless some of you would be willing to add your two bits to the planning stage AND your stories.

Apart from a couple of attempts using Microsoft Word's HTML Add-on (Internet Assistant), all Text on my Site was prepared in MS Word with some HTML codes inserted using the Find & Replace Function, with the rest of the HTML conversion done using HTML Writer (not yet registered, but will be soon!) created by Kris Nosack. The Graphics on this Wing were created using Art from CDs from Corel, Serif, and Publisher's TASK FORCE by New Vision Technologies, Inc, and prepared in Corel's Draw& PhotoPaint, and GIF Editor (not registered yet, but will be soon!) created by Alchemy Mindworks, Inc.
