John Olver, his wife, Sarah Aunger>, and his eleven children, the youngest under two years old, lived on their farmstead, Cadusca, in Liskeard, Cornwall, England. In 1831, the Olvers set sail for the United States, a sea-voyage of six week's duration. They landed in New York, journeyed to Kingston, on the Hudson. The family completed the final 108 miles of their journey , from Kingston to Honesdale, PA., aboard the barges of the D&PA canal. They arrived in Honesdale in June of 1831, and lived for a time with John's brother, William Olver, who had arrived in 1829 aboard the "Springflower" which debarked in Montreal.
A deed dated July 9, 1831, and recorded in Bethany Courthouse, granted to "John Olver, yeoman, late of Old England," 195 acres in the western side of Long Pond, Beach Lake, PA
John was born on September 5, 1790. Sarah was born on September 3, 1793.
John Olver died on April 12, 1866. Sarah Aunger died on August 6, 1880.

Aldace Edmund Olver married Myrtle Henrietta Bunnell. Henrietta was born on August 17, 1901, in Beach Lake, PA. She was the daughter of Ellery Pike Bunnell and Martha Biddlecomb.
