A few days ago I received a packet of pictures and papers my sister Barbara had in her keeping. My Mother kept everything; she was a child of the Depression, and after the dispersal of her household she had given them to her oldest child. My sister Barbara, who knows how much I appreciate 'artifacts', sent them to me. One of the 'artifacts' was a menu from my parents 40th Anniversary in 1971. They were married on December 24th, 1931. This year they would have been married 67 years.
Happy Anniversary, Anna May and Bill

The snow lay gently on the earth.
It beautified the barren ground.
And on that Christmas eve now past,
Became her special wedding gown.

The clearness of the night revealed
The stars all bright and shining through.
The world became a waiting stage
To hear him say to her "I do."

Their joy was such a wondrous thing.
It shone with brilliance from their eyes.
The earth stood hushed while these two vowed
To love each other all their lives.

For forty years they kept their love
Through wealth and want; through joy and sorrow.
They've stayed together, hand in hand,
And always gladly shared tomorrow.

If two can weather all the storms
That trouble, want, or pain can bring
Than love can best the blows of time
And it can conquer anything.

Happy Anniversary, Mother and Daddy
