Thomas Zlodus Rogers was born in Rome, Floyd County GA on 13 Oct 1888, and was 1/8th degree of Cherokee blood. In 1908 he married Florence Rowena Brown of Pryor, OK. Florence was 1/4th degree of Cherokee blood and their children were registered as 3/16ths Cherokee and were issued their own tribal membership, based on their parent's Dawes enrollment. The family moved to Texas for a brief time, where Florence's grandparents were living.

Loretta Rogers, born 27 Aug 1911 in Pryor, Mayes County, OK
Mayburn "Bogue" Rogers, born 12 Jan 1913 in Pryor, Mayes County, OK
Gladys Josephine Rogers, born 1 Sep 1915 in Pryor, Mayes County, OK.
Thomas Z. was known as "Lodie" Rogers. He was a road building contractor throughout most of his adult life. He and Florence were divorced while the children were still young, and Florence and the children lived with her parents; George Washington Shipley Brown and his wife; Susan (Horn) of Pryor. Lodie died 9 Aug 1947 in Vinita, Craig County, OK and is buried in Adair, Mayes County, OK. Florence died in California, where she was living with her daughter, Gladys (Rogers) Summers.
Thomas Z. and Florence were my grandparents.
