As TeRRyBeaR walked into the classroom he saw the new teacher he would be having this year and wondered to himself if she would be mean or not..almost as if reading his thoughts the teacher smiled at him and said " Good morning students, my name is Mrs. Grizzly..and since I'm new here and dont know any of your names lets start out by going around the room and you tell me your name and a little about yourself.
It didn't take long before TeRRyBeaR liked his new teacher. School didn't seem like such a bad place after all to him now that Mrs. Grizzly was his teacher...until later that afternoon, when Mrs. Grizzly told everyone to take out their reading books and take turns reading for the class.
TeRRyBeaR could feel his throat starting to tighten as he walked up in front of the class for his turn to read. Trying as hard as he could TeRRyBeaR read through the page not making a mistake, looking out of the corner of his eye he could see Mrs. Grizzly smile at him and thats when he started having problems. Each word seem harder for him to pronounce and he started hearing the whispers and giggles coming from the rest of the class.
Mrs. Grizzly clapped her hands and told the classroom to be quiet as she told TeRRyBeaR whose eyes were full of tears that he could go back to his desk. The rest of the afternoon TeRRyBeaR sulked at his desk and watched the clock for when it was time to go home. Just like he thought this morning, TeRRyBeaR hated school once again. Finally the bell rang and it was time to go home but as TeRRyBeaR got up to leave, Mrs. Grizzly called out to him, "TeRRyBeaR could you come here please I'd like to talk to you."
"Yes, Mrs. Grizzly?" asked TeRRyBeaR as he stood by her desk. "TeRRyBeaR, I noticed you seem to have a difficult time with reading and I was wondering if you would like some help with it?" "I guess so" said TeRRyBeaR, not being sure of what to say. "Good then, I'll arrange to have someone help you after school ...Here give this note to your mother so she will know where your at and after school tomorrow someone will stop by to start helping you." smiled Mrs. Grizzly
