Once there was a little boy named Tyler..he had a older brother named Linzie..and a sister named Courtney..they were all sweet children..but always did like to roam and play..and get into things like all children do..
They had cousins who lived near by and they were younger and they would all get together after school was out..or on the weekends and play all their time away..
Tyler had been seeing a beautiful rainbow for a few days now..and he kept telling all his friends all about the beautiful rainbow..but no one would listen..finally one day the weather was bad..it rained and rained all that day and the children could not go out to play..so they decided to read story books..they read Cindrella..and the nice story of Snow White..and then Tyler ran up on the story book of a leprechaun and a rainbow and a pot of gold found at the end of all rainbows..
Well..now!! This is what Tyler had just been waiting to read..he read all he could about the rainbow..and the pot of Gold..he was sure he could find it..boy wouldn't this be cool..to find a pot of gold..he could buy all kinds of things for him and his family..and friends..is little mind was just wondering with all the nice thoughts of being rich..and having all the nice new toys that he had seen others buy..Mom and dad were very practical people and they did not buy a lot of junk things..they always thought a little was fine..but they never would buy extra toys just for buying..it had to be a special occasion..
That night Tyler could not hardly sleep..he was so excited about finding the pot of Gold..but he would not tell anyone until the next Rainbow..then he could go look and if anyone wanted to come along that was okay too.!! This would be a great adventure..
Now a few weeks went by..and not a Rainbow to be seen in the soft white fluffy clouds..he wondered if he would ever find another Rainbow..
Walking home from school all of a sudden he looked up and there in the clouds he could see the most beautiful Rainbow..and it sure did look like the end of that Rainbow was close to his own home..Tyler started running now..he was so happy..and the thoughts of the Pot of Gold made him run faster..he was so out of breath from the running he could hardly say a word to Courtney..Lin..and his two cousins Damian and Laurall..they were all laughing at Tyler since he was trying so hard to tell them all of his wonderful news..
"Hey just calm down..take your time..and we all will listen to what you have to say...just try and catch your breath first.."Linzie was saying..it took a few minutes and Tyler began his long story of the Pot of Gold and the Rainbow..well everyone seemed to be all excited..and this was going to be a big adventure for everyone..
So Saturday was the day..everyone would be ready for the adventure..at ten o'clock sharp.. they would be off..walking the area where Tyler saw the end of the rainbow land..
Tyler was really happy now..everyone had listened..and all were excited as he was..would Saturday ever get here.. on the appointed day of the trek everyone was up and they all met in the barn..this way they could sort out all they would be taking..you could never go with out some kind of food to eat on the way..and of course there were a lot of water springs around..but you still had to take your own water until you ran out..
Everyone had their own backpacks..and Tyler led the group up the little mountain behind the barn..and over into the grassy fields..behind the barn..it was so nice out ..the weather perfect..and the sun so bright it hurt your eyes..this was perfect..it was going to be a wonderful day for their trip..
The morning went by quickly and everyone was getting tired now.. they all decided they would have to take a little nap..regain some of their energy and keep going...
"Hey you guys..get up" Linzie was saying .."we need to get going..it will take a little while before we may find that end of the Rainbow.." everyone was up and on their way again..and it was not long until Damian pointed out a really pretty color to the right side of the mountain..it had pinks..blues..and yellows in a small shaped little line going to the side of the mountain.. oh it was really pretty and the children ran hard as they could to see this..this just had to be the end of the Rainbow.. "Linzie was the first one there running fast and hard...look at that!! "Now this is something...there really is a pot of Gold at this Rainbow"..as all the children gathered round the rainbow's end...they saw that it was a big pot of Golden Coins..now wasn't this just wonderful ..they had found that pot of Gold..but if they did not take it now...maybe it would not be here when they returned or went home..and came back..they were not prepared for such a heavy and big pot..and they sure could not drag it over the valley..so everyone tried to lift the pot of Gold..they were not strong enough to pull or carry all that Gold..so with the backpacks now empty of all there candy..cookies..and the things they had brought to eat on the way they filled their pockets full and their backpacks too..
When everyone got to the barn..all tired and worn out from their walk back..they started checking all the Gold they had brought back with them ..but when they opened there backpacks not a coin was to be found..where had they all gone??..And to make matters worse..there was not a single coin in their pockets..where had they disappeared too!!!
Everyone just sat in amazement about all this..why had this happened..they had done so well in finding the Gold..and then Courtney said.." I bet I know why we could not find all the Gold we brought with us.." You know the Lord says.. that you should not steal..we did..even if it was from the end of the Rainbow..that is why we could not find any of the coins".. So all the children gather up their belongings and headed home..thinking of the beautiful Rainbow they had seen..and knowing they had done wrong by taking the Gold which was not theres in the first place...tomorrow would be another adventure!!!!!
