There once was a little boy..oh he was like all little boys..who liked to play and have his little friends around on those pretty summer days or even on rainy days when they would all get together and play in his room..he had the best collection of 'Star Wars' games..and all the nice new toys that belonged to the 'Star Wars' collection..but Mikey really had a very bad time of seeing..he had to ware thick heavy glasses..and other children were not always so kind to Mikey and made fun of him..
��Now it was the school outing..all the children were going to the zoo on a field trip and Mikey was all excited about the trip and his mom and dad had bought him a new pair of shoes to ware along with a nice new shirt and pair of jeans..he looked so nice..and was just counting the days before the field trip..only a couple more days and he would be at the zoo..the school had pooled there money together so that all the children could have a nice lunch free of charge for the trip..so that the children would not have to bring a bag lunch..this would be different..and Mikey said he was going to have fried chicken..
Now this little boy was not very well liked because of his bad attitude..and he said he was not going to the zoo..that was for just babies..and he had more important things to do with his time..no one really knew that he did not have the money to pay for the field trip..so some of the children were glad that the mean little boy was not going..but for some reason Mikey hated that the boy was not going..he just thought that all the children in school should have a nice day..including the little boy who always made fun of him..maybe it was like his mom said..he just wanted the attention..
On the day of the field trip everyone was all happy and so glad to be riding the school buses to the zoo..when Mikey noticed that the other little boy was staying in the class room for those who did not want to go..he ask his teacher if the little boy really did not want to go..his teacher was very nice in explaining that the other little boy did not really have the extra money to spend..this little boy's dad had been out of work for awhile now and they were having some hard times..well this was just awful to Mikey..so he ask could he use the phone..and when he called him mom he began telling her of the sad problem and why the other boy was not going to the zoo..so his mom talked to the teacher and made arrangements for the sad little boy to go..
Mikey was so happy..he went over to the little boy who always made fun of him..and said to him he could go to the zoo..and he could share his lunch and they would really have a grand time..the little boy was so pleased to be able to go to the zoo after all..and to this day that little boy is Mikey's best buddy..since that was years ago now..the the boys are all grown up..they still are the best of friends..so it is always good to remember you do not have to be mean to have that attention you would like..being nicer is a much better way to make and have friends..and this is the way that Jesus would want us all to be...
