The parents of John Francis were George and Jane Francis. John Francis was born in Cecil County, Maryland in 1764. He died in
Union County, West Virginia 29 December, 1856 at the age of 93. He married Isabelle Erskine. They reared the following children: Henry Francis, William Francis (born 1804), John E. Francis, Peggy Francis, Joseph Francis, Rebecca Francis, James Francis, Betsy Francis, and Lewis Francis.
John E. Francis married Elizabeth Harris 23 December, 1835.
The following information may, or may not be regarding the same family. A John Francis married Sarah Ralston 20 February, 1833 (bond). Two daughters were born to John and Sarah Francis. Their names were Eliza Ann Francis, and Mary Francis. Sarah Ralston Francis died and John Francis married Nancy All Thompson 19 April, 1852. They had one daughter and three sons: Susan Francis (born 1853), Henry Logan Francis (born 1855), Preston P. Francis (born 1859), and William Thompson Francis (born 1861).
Henry Logan Francis married Mary Elizabeth Dunn 11 April, 1876. They reared the following children: John Elbert Francis, Luther Francis, William Sylvanus Francis, and Laura Ethel Francis.
William S. Francis married Naomi Underwood. Two sons were born to this couple: Clair Dale Francis, and Charles Ople Francis.
