1) Road Rage is the modus operendi here. Drivers are more sane than in NYC, but are much meaner on the roads.
2) Turn Signals are totally optional.
3) Passing on the right is totally encouraged.
4) Blocking up the passing lane is a local passtime. People routinely ignore the flashing-the-high-beam-get- the-fuck-outta-my-way gesture.
5) So many people drive in the breakdown lane of 128 that it is now LEGAL to do so between 6 and 10 in the mornings. The people have spoken.
6) Bostonians are born with a map of the city's cow paths implanted in their brains, so why bother to put up signs? My personal fav. is Mem. Drive going towards Boston, bear left to stay on, else be shunted, without warning, over the river. At the next bridge, bear right, else face the same fate... All I can say is, get insurance, get a map... and take the T. You'll never find parking anyhow.
