The back view of the boy's tank.

1/23/99 I gave the gerbils Almonds and peanuts. Nimbus, Tangerine, Spotty, Pookie2, and Oreo2, would grab one and run into the long dry cleaner tube at the back of their tank, which they made into their burrow. The strips of shredded cardboard, seen in the tank came from this burrow (tube).

This is what the tube looks like.

I also replaced the paper on their wheel. It won't last long, because it will get chewed off.

Sometimes,I give the boys different items to play with. Here they are playing with a Habitrail tube.

These are Creamy's babies. Gender can be determined at 10 days old, by looking for dots. The first one is a male agouti spotted. (He has no dots on his belly.) The second one is a female black pied.( see dots in circled areas.)

1/24/99 Creamy, Little Creamy and April are taking care of all the babies. The two adopted from Cookie are still skinny. Hopefully they will get gain weight.

1/30/99 Today I cleaned out the boys tank. I changed their litter and gave them two big tubes, shredded paper and a new platform for their food bowl.

Cookies 2 babies are still alive but smaller than their cousins.

2/7/99 The skinny babies are doing good, they are now eating on their own. I made a Wooden Swiss Cheese House for Creamy, April and the babies.

I also gave the boys a Cereal box to shred.
