THE TRI-UNE G-D EXPLAINED

There has been much misunderstanding concerning the Doctrine of the Tri-Une G-d. G-d IS One G-d. This is very clear from the Hebrew Scriptures (the TeNaK). Can this Doctrine be simply explained? We believe it may be possible.

THERE IS ONLY ONE G-D

In Hebrew: Shema Ysrael, Ad-nai El-heinu Ad-nai Echad. Deuteronomy 6:4

Translated: Hear O Israel, The L-rd our G-d Is One.

The New Testament says there Is: The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit.

DOES THE TRINITY MAKE THREE GODS?

So this makes "Three Gods" some say? This may appear to be the case, but the Apostle Paul as an Observant ex-Pharisee knew the Sacred Scriptures very well on this issue. He knew there was only One G-d. He never says otherwise.

The New Testament Declares that the Father, the Son and The Holy Spirit Are "One". I John 5:7

So, how could there be One G-d if there is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (seemingly "Three")? It is a fair question. Let's look and see.

THE FATHER

The Father Has Always Possessed Eternal Existence. He Is A Spirit.[1]

The Father also Speaks. When He Does Speak, what Happens? Simply put, The Divine WORD Goes Forth!

The WORD is "LOGOS" in Greek. Scripture says By His WORD Were All Things Made. For instance:

"And G-d SAID: 'Let There Be Light', and there Was Light." Bereshith (Genesis) 1:3

When G-d Speaks, His WORD Going Forth Contains In Its' Essence Every Identical Attribute of Deity of the Father Which Completes His Will Perfectly.

The Fathers' WORD has Always been With Him.

THE WORD

Consider this Old Testament verse:

For who has stood in the Counsel (Innermost Thoughts) of the L-RD; and has perceived (SEEN) and heard His WORD (DABAR)? who has marked (listened to) His WORD (DABAR) and heard? Jeremiah 23:18[2]

LOOK CLOSELY AT THE PASSAGE ABOVE: HOW COULD THE WORD OF THE L-RD EVER BE SEEN?

Scripture asks who has SEEN His WORD. Could such a thing be possible?

CAN G-D DO MIRACLES?

Since Scripture says "Nothing is impossible with G-d." and suchlike verses, we would have to say, Yes! G-d can absolutely do any Miracle He Wants.

THE INCARNATION

The New Testament says that the begotten WORD of the Father Actually and Literally, By Means of A Miraculous Birth, Became flesh.

"And The WORD (LOGOS) Became flesh and Dwelt among us, (and we beheld His Glory, The Glory as of The Only Begotten of the Father,) Full of Grace and Truth." John 1:14

The Fathers' WORD "became flesh" and INDWELT the Humanity of Yeshua. This Miracle Produced the Messiah of Israel.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit is admitted by all monotheistic faiths.[3] Only the New Testament and the True Assemblies of Yeshua clearly distinguish the Holy Spirit from the Father and the Son as a Person, yet Proclaim they are "One" (having the Same Essence). The Holy Spirit Proceeds Forth from the Father and the Son (WORD; LOGOS).

Yhis agrees with the Athanasian Creed.

WE ARE MADE "IN HIS IMAGE"

It can be said that our Humanity is also composed of three parts.

Our Thoughts, our Words and our Deeds.

These three things are also "separate and distinct" in nature: our thoughts are not our words, neither our words deeds, etc., even though the "stamp" of one is on the other. These then can be said to be "who we are" both separately and in relation to our wholeness. So it could be said that we are "tri-partite beings" if you will.[4]

We hope this simple explanation has helped.

Shalom!

FOOTNOTES

[1]"G-d [is] a Spirit : and they that worship Him must worship [Him] in Spirit and in Truth." John 4:24. We are never Commanded to Worship the Holy Spirit Independantly as we can The Father and The Son.

[2] "[it]" does not appear in the Hebrew text. Neither does "it" appear in the Greek Septuagint (LXX) Old Testament:

For who has stood in the Counsel (Innermost Thoughts) of the L-RD and SEEN His WORD (LOGOS) who has hearkened? and heard? Jeremiah 23:18 (LXX)

Further, Yeshua Said:

The WORD that you hear is not Mine, but the Fathers' Who Sent Me. John 14:24 (KJV)

This verse also speaks of the Dual Nature of Christ.

[3] All Monotheistic Faiths Accept the Holy Spirit: Judaism, Islam and the True Assemblies of Yeshua.

No explanation concerning the Holy Spirit seems to be forthcoming from either Judaism or Islam, however. Clearly the Holy Spirit is not the Father, and yet Possesses All The Attributes OF The Father. In this, the Father and the Holy Spirit are indeed "One" in Essence.

We are strictly warned by Yeshua to not assign any "lesser role" to the Holy Spirit; the Holy Spirit is also Fully G-d, and not to speak even one word against His Holy Spirit.

[4]Does a persons' word "stand alone" as a representative of that "person"? Certainly. Any legal contract may be so considered. But even though a separate "entity" can be said to be a stand alone "person" (his true words being thus) separated from but proceeding forth from thought, the conclusion is an obvious one. Because mortal man is created and not The Creator however; mans' word is certainly not a Divine Absolute in itself and the comparison will break down at some point.

To avoid any misunderstanding, this is not "Oneness" doctrine.

HIS DIVINE NATURE

The Father Sends Forth His WORD. His WORD Was Always With Him. His WORD, because of The Nature of Inherent Divine Power, Is called A Separate Person: A Divine Absolute: Uncreated. Always Known and Present In His Inscrutable Omniscience. Separate, in that the Father is not His WORD, yet His WORD Proceeds From Him. The same is True of the Holy Spirit witch Prodeeds Forth from the Father and the Son. Each Person Possesses All Attributes of Deity and at the same time remain One in Essence.

The Father, unRevealed, is Totally Inscrutable to us. He is also Inscrutable to unbelievers.

In the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD was with G0d, and the WORD was G-d. John 1:1

His WORD Has Been both SEEN and HEARD.
