DAN, EPHRAIM AND THE "LOST 10 TRIBES"

THE TRIBES OF DAN AND EPHRAIM NO LONGER EXIST

Of all the impediments to any "regathering of the original 12 Tribes of Israel" as they are listed in the Old Testament, the New Testament declares that G-d has made the Tribes of Dan and of Ephraim no longer Tribes. We will show from Scripture how it is completely impossible for the original "lost 10 Tribes" to be "regathered", even if the Geneological Scrolls were still extant, which they are not. G-d Himself has eliminated the whole Tribes of Dan and of Ephraim. The Prophets Isaiah, Jeremiah and Amos Prophesied that this would come to pass. This is shown fulfilled in the Book of Revelation Chapter 7 where it lists all 12 Tribes. Dan is not found and Manasseh displaces Ephraim making all 12 Tribes.

Saying, "Hurt not the earth neither the sea, nor the trees, til we have sealed the servants of our G-d in their foreheads". And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed 144,000 of All the Tribes of the children of Israel. Of the Tribe of Judah were sealed 12,000. Of the Tribe of Reuben were sealed 12,000. Of the Tribe of Gad were sealed 12,000. Of the Tribe of Aser were sealed 12,000. Of the Tribe of Naphtali were sealed 12,000. Of the Tribe of Manasseh were sealed 12,000. Of the Tribe of Simeon were sealed 12,000. Of the Tribe of Levi were sealed 12,000. Of the Tribe of Issachar were sealed 12,000. Of the Tribe of Zebulon were sealed 12,000. Of the Tribe of Joseph were sealed 12.000. Of the Tribe of Benjamin were sealed 12,000. Revelation 7:3-8

UNDER THE OLD COVENANT, ONLY JACOBS' 12 SONS WERE THE 12 TRIBES OF ISRAEL

...now the sons of Jacob were 12: the sons of Leah; Reuben, Jacobs' first-born, and Simeon, and Levci, and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulon: the sons of Rachael; Joseph and Benjamin: and the sons of Bilhah, Rachaels' handmaid; Dan and Naphtali: and the sons of Zilpah, Leahs' handmaid; Gad and Asher: these are the sons of Jacob, which were born to him in Padan-Aram. Genesis 35:22-26

Jacobs' 12 sons were the original 12 Tribes of Israel. Here is the list:

JACOBS' 12 SONS LISTED

1. Reuben

2. Simeon

3. Levi

4. Judah

5. Issachar

6. Zebulon

7. Joseph

8. Benjamin

9. Dan

10. Naphtali

11. Gad

12. Asher

Now let us look at the current list of the 12 Tribes of Israel given in the New Testament (see Revelation 7, above) to see how they differ from Genesis 35 (see above), and then from the Prophets Isaiah, Jeremiah and Amos why the two lists differ:

THE CURRENT 12 TRIBES LISTED IN THE NEW TESTAMENT

1. Judah

2. Reuben

3. Gad

4. Aser (Asher)

5. Naphtali

6. Manasseh

7. Simeon

8. Levi

9. Issachar

10. Zebulon

11. Joseph

12. Benjamin

A comparison between the two lists (Genesis 35 compared with Revelation 7) quickly reveals that Dan is not found as a Tribe any more, yet he was one of the original 12. Manasseh replaces Dan. Manasseh is now listed as a Tribe displacing Ephraim, when Ephraim was the originally favoured son.[1] This means that when Manasseh is placed as one of the 12 Tribes (in the place of Dan) it is no mistake. If the Tribe of Ephraim were any more in existence, it of course would have been placed there instead of Manasseh, obviously, for Ephraim had the Blessing of Jacob over Manasseh!

By this we know that Ephraim no longer existed as a Tribe in the First Century A.D. We have found this has been completely overlooked by the "prophecy experts".[2]

Much "prophetic" speculation concerning the "regathering" is based on Ephraim, yet he is no longer found.

"Why", one may ask, "do the 12 Tribes differ in the New Testament compared to the Old Testament?"

To understand why, let us look at the now fulfilled Prophecies against the Tribes of Dan and Ephraim.

PROPHECY OF JEREMIAH MENTIONING DAN AND EPHRAIM TOGETHER

For a voice declareth from Dan, and publisheth affliction from mount Ephraim. Jeremiah 4:15

PROPHECY AGAINST DAN

They that swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, "Thy God O Dan liveth"; and, "the manner of Beersheeba liveth", even they shall fall and never rise up again. Amos 8:14

PROPHECIES AGAINST EPHRAIM

For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin; and within threescore and five years (65 years) shall Ephraim be broken, that it be not a people. Isaiah 7:8

And I will cast you out of My sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, even the whole seed of Ephraim. Jeremiah 7:15

THE G-D OF ISRAEL HIMSELF HAS PREVENTED ANY "REGATHERING" OF THE "ORIGINAL 12 TRIBES"

The G-d of Israel Himself prevents any "regathering" attempts, and has thereby Protected us against any future claims by charlatans that this is ever again possible. He has also Given us Scripture that Protects us against ones who say they know where the "tribe of Ephraim" can be located. It is gone.

In other words, since, according to the New Testament, these Tribes do not exist any more, especially Dan, there can be no more "12 Tribe regathering", and since Ephraim no longer exists as a Tribe (as evidenced by Manassehs' displacement of his position), then there remain no "Ephraimites" either. The "lost 10 Tribes" speculation therefore is not found to be any sort of valid doctrine or teaching according to the New Testament. This would include the Mormon teaching that the American Indians are "the lost 10 tribes", British-Israelism (WWCOG), that Britain and America are the "lost 10 tribes", or the attempts at evangelizing by other groups trying to call "the lost 10 tribes" any "fullness of the gentiles".

Again, why is this? Because our New Testament says that the list given us in Revelation Chapter 7 has been now Revealed by G-d to be "ALL the Tribes of the children of Israel." (Revelation 7:4b).

FOOTNOTES

[1]Jacob Blessed Ephraim, Josephs' younger son, over Manasseh the elder. Genesis 48:13,14. Jacob also "guided his hands crosswise" in this passage, making a Cross.

The Hebrew Masoretic Text which was assembled in the Middle Ages (800-1200 A.D.), has goyem in this place making it appear that it means "Gentile nations" which is most likely where all this speculation stems from. Todays' identifiation of goyem as always meaning Gentiles (usually with a negative connotation) and never "people" (which we believe it once was) can also be considered.

When Jacob Blessed Ephraim over Manasseh the Masoretic Text has: "his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations." The Greek Septuagint has ethnon for "nations" which can also be translated "people". There is no doubt that Ephraim became a "multitude of people". That tribe, "people" and "seed" was removed however, fulfilling the words of Isaiah and Jeremiah (see their prophecies above which are confirmed by Revelation 7).

[2]The Book of Mormon and others featuring the "lost 10 Tribes" overlook this totally.

This calls into serious question others as well, who choose the Tribe of Ephraim as a valid Tribe, as if it were still in existence, when the New Testament displaces Dan with Manasseh. If Ephraim were in existence, it would have displaced Dan, and Manasseh would not have.
