1. Roger Wellington born Abt 1609, occupation Planter, married 1638, Mary Palgrave, born c. 1619, Wymondham, England, (daughter of Richard Palgrave and Anna Harris) died Jan 21, 1695, Watertown, MA. Roger died March 11, 1698, Watertown, MA. Came to New England in 1630. Brown Book calls him Corporal. Dates corrected from Irving. John de Wellington was living during the time of William the Conqueror. His great-grandson, Ralph de Wellington, was at the Seige of Acre. His son, Sir Ralph de Wellington, married Joan Champernowne, daughter of Sir Willaim Champernowne. Ralph later assumed that coat of arms with certain modifications. Roger was on the earliest list of proprietors of Watertown, MA; was made freeman 1690. He came to NE in 1630. Mary: Came to America in the Winthrop Fleet of 1630.

Nathaniel died July 30, 1806, Plymouth VT, buried: Plymouth Notch Cem. one of 12,000 Minute Men - fought in battle of Bennington. He resided in Lexington, MA until 1722, when he moved to Lunenburg, MA, where they remained for 17 years. They then moved to Plymouth VT, where he was the 4th settler of the town, known then as Saltash. His first home was a log cabin at the head of Lake Amherst, not far from where the soldiers camped during the Revolution on their way to Crown Point. The post office was in his house, the first town meetings and church were also held there. DAR 22684
