Her mother was a traveling nurse and could not provide for her, so she was put in an orphanage in Prairie du Chein, WI. When about 17, she met John Lisk. In addition to the 7 children listed, LDS reports three others (all female) as "Living". John: In 1889 homesteaded 80 acres on the west side of Bluff Lake, Union Twp., Burnett Co., WI.
