1. John (Paga) (Pagan) Pagin born Scotland, married (?). John died Scotland. The Pagin line is established as coming over from Scotland, thru Virginia and to Preble Co. Ohio, where marriages joined them to the Redding family before moving on to Michigan City IN, where they married into the Jenks line. One genealogy calls John "William John", calling him a seafaring merchant, citizen and resident of London, England and Glasgow, Scotland. There is another genealogy of the Chester Co. SC Pagans, in which a David m. an Elizabeth Ferrell (Ferrall) which is probably another lineage.

David (Pagan) Pagin (1.John1) born c. 1745, Glasgow, Scotland, married (1) Elizabeth Farrille, born Alsace-Lorainne, France, (daughter of William Farrille and (?)) married (2) Oct. 8, 1791/5, in Franklin Co, VA by Jesse Fears, Mary Carter, died Mar. 1847. David died Nov. 1815/7, Botetourt Co., VA. SAR Patriot listed as serving as Pvt in VA. SAR Ref. File #313 PQ.GED. David served as Pvt in the IL Reg. under George Rogers Clark, when Kaskaskia and Vincennes were taken from the British in 1778. DAR ref. 18369, 50192, 65752, 95916. Elizabeth: In 1784, a company of soldiers, incl. David Pagin, was sent out to kill Indians. None returned, and the Indians reported them all massacred. Two years after this, the French commander of the fort asked Elizabeth to marry him. She waited 6 months longer, then consented. 6 weeks after this, David escaped from Indians, crawled home almost starved. Elizabeth, broken-hearted because she had not remained faithful, lived only four weeks after his return. Mary: Widow of Edward Harman.

Co., VA, (daughter of Daniel (Fosher) (Fascher) Foshier and Marillis (Echol) (Eagle) Eckels) died Jan 22, 1856, LaPorte Co, IN. Joseph died March 31, 1862, LaPorte Co. IN., buried: On their farm in LaPorte Co., IN. After mother died, Father returned to Lynchburg VA, leaving Joseph with French family they boarded with. Family and Joseph went to Natchez, MS. Father returned, and not finding Joseph, returned to VA. At 15, Joseph returned to north, landing on Kentucky shore opposite Cincinnati. heading to Lynchburg VA. A family by name of Dr. Mathias Foshier took him in, as he had typhoid fever, and sent to Lynchburg. Father came and took him back to Lynchburg where he remained until age 20, learning cabinetry with father. Susannah: Went w/husband to TN. on way to find Joseph's father. Built first ferry there. Started north to Ohio in 1808 since TN admitted as slave state. Reached Preble Co. OH where they found her brother Matthias. Stayed until 1830. By 1830 with four children married, they decided to move to northern Indiana (La Porte Co.). Joseph built first house in Michigan City, In. Had 10 -13 children here. Others born in LaPorte Co. IN. (Some family records say 17 children total.)1850 census LaPorte Co has wife Mary.
