1.    William Merriam married Sarah Piper.  William died 1635/59, Hadlow, Kent, England.

2.    William Merriam (1.William1) married Elizabeth (?).

3.    Joseph Merriam (1.William1) born 1600, Hadlow, Kent, England, married 1623, in Pembury, Kent, England, Sarah Goldstone, born 1602, Pembury, Kent, England, (daughter of John Goldstone and Frances Jeffrie) died Mar 12, 1670/1.  Joseph died Jan 1, 1640/1, Concord, MA.

                      Children:

       +7.     ii    Joseph Merriam born 1629.

 

4.    Joanna Merriam (1.William1) born 1644, England, married 1677, in England, Nathaniel Page, born 1645, Devonshire, (son of Richard Page and (?)) died Apr 12, 1692, Bedford ( Boston?) MA.  Joanna died 1724.  Nathaniel: Came from Plymouth, Eng to Boston Aug 13, 1675. Returned to England to marry Joanna.  Returned to America in 1685. Nathaniel and his brother Nicholas Page, who came from Plymouth, England (sons of Richard), landed in Boston MA Aug 13, 1675.  It is believed that they are descended from Sir Hugo Page, who lived in Ebor, Yorkshire, England in 1257, and that John Page, who came to America in 1630, was their uncle.

5.    Sarah Merriam (2.William2, 1.William1) born Sep 14, 1665, married (1) Jul 11, 1681, John Jenks, born Jul 27, 1660, Lynn MA, (son of Joseph Jenks and Elizabeth (?)) occupation Trumpeter for Company of Horse, died 1698, Lynn, MA, married (2) John Lewis.

                      Children by John Jenks:

          13.    i    Elizabeth Jenks born Mar 30, 1683, married Apr 27, 1706, John Chilson.

          14.    ii    Sarah Jenks born Jul 12, 1686, married Oct 20, 1720, Henry Stanton.

          15.    iii   Deborah Jenks born Jun 5, 1690.

          16.    iv   Hannah Jenks born Jan 20, 1693/4, married 1710, Banfield Capron, born Jul 16, 1683, Rehoboth, Bristol, MA, (son of Banfield Capron and Elizabeth Callender) died Aug 16, 1752.

          17.    v    John Jenks born Apr 6, 1697, married Elizabeth Berry, born Mar 27, 1701, (daughter of Thomas Berry and Elizabeth (?)) died Feb 23, 1735/6.  John died Jun 19, 1764.  Savage (Gen. Dict. of 1st Settlers of New England says he had 3 wives and 19 children, of whom 12 were married and one was the father of Rev. William Jenks, Harvard College 1797.

 

6.    Mary  Merriam (3.Joseph2, 1.William1) married William Taylor, born 1618, England, died Dec 6, 1696, Concord MA.  Mary died Dec 10, 1699.  Note 1 (pg 100 Browne Book) "Authority: "History of New Ipswich, NH" "History of Concord" (Concord includes Carlisle), "History of Reading".  These give Mary Merriam, daughter of Joseph and Sarah(Goldstone) Merriam, as the wife of William Taylor, but he marriage record has not been found nor the name of Mary Taylor in any of the Merriam wills and deeds. (See "New England Historical and Genealogical Report.") William: Sailed from London, July 1635 on ship "Truelove".  His house lot in Concord adjoined the land of John Merriam, near "Merriam's Corner" where, in April 1775, the retreating British troops were attacked by the Provincials, and the "Disorderly Fight" began.

          18.    i    Abraham Taylor born Nov 14, 1656, Concord MA, married Dec 16, 1681, in Concord MA, Mary Whittaker, born Mar 10, 1662, Watertown MA, (daughter of John Whittaker and Elizabeth (?)) died Feb 18, 1756.  Abraham died June 19, 1729, Carlisle MA.

          19.    ii    Mary Taylor.

          20.    iii   John Taylor.

          21.    iv   Isaac Taylor.

          22.    v    Jacob Taylor.

          23.    vi   Joseph Taylor.

 

7.    Joseph Merriam (3.Joseph2, 1.William1) born 1629, married Jul 12, 1653, in Concord, MA, Sarah Stone, born Nayland, (daughter of Gregory Stone and Lydia Cooper) died Apr 5, 1704.  Joseph died Apr 20, 1677, Lexington, MA.

                      Children:

          24.    i    Mary Merriam born Jun 14, 1664, married Isaac Stearns, born Jan 6, 1632/3, Watertown, Middlesex, MA, (son of John Stearns and Mary Lathrop) died Aug 2, 1676, Watertown, Middlesex, MA.

 

8.    Sarah Page (4.Joanna2, 1.William1) born c. 1675, married Jan 7, 1698/9, in Billerica, MA, Samuel Hill, born Feb 22, 1671/2, Billerica, MA, (son of Jonathan Hill and Mary Hartwell) died Feb 17, 1762, Billerica, MA, buried: Old South Cemetery, Billerica, MA.  Sarah died Apr 30, 1758.

                      Children:

          25.    i    Joanna Hill born Apr 6, 1707, Billerica, MA, married Jan 22, 1727, William French, born Jan 25, 1700/01, Billerica, MA, (son of William French and Sarah Danforth) died Apr 9, 1776, Billerica, MA, buried: Old South Cemetery, Billerica, MA.  Joanna died Jan. 17, 1769, Billerica, MA, buried: Old South Cemetery, Billerica, MA.

 

10.   Nathaniel Page (4.Joanna2, 1.William1) born Dec 30, 1679, Bedford, MA, married (1) Nov 6, 1701, in Bedford, MA, Susanna Lane, born Feb. 24, 1682, Billerica, MA, (daughter of John Lane and Susanna ( Susan) Whipple) died Sept 2, 1746, Bedford MA, married (2) 1748, Mary Grimes.  Nathaniel died Mar 2, 1755, Bedford MA.  One of Major Lane's Troopers in 1706 in Queen Anne's War 1703-13

                      Children by Susanna Lane:

          26.    i    Cornet Nathaniel Page born Sept 4, 1703, Bedford, MA, married c. 1729, Hannah Blanchard, born Oct 24, 1704, Billerica MA, (daughter of John Blanchard and Mary Crosby) died Sept 7, 1763, Bedford, MA.  Cornet died April 6, 1779, Bedford MA.

          27.    ii    John Page born Oct 11, 1704, Bedford, MA, married (1) Amittai Fassett, married (2) Rachel Fitch, married (3) Rebecca Wheeler, born Sep 2, 1733, Concord, MA, (daughter of Ebenezer Wheeler and Mary Minott) died Jul 12, 1755, Bedford, MA.  John died Feb 18, 1782, Bedford, MA.  Although 70 years old, he was in the battles of Lexington and Bunker Hill. DAR Ref. 8465
