George died Nov 1681/86, Amesbury, Essex, MA. One of original founders of Amesbury, MA. Came as a servant to Samuel Winsley abt 1639, and bought Job Cole's rights at Salisbury c. 1643. Will dated Jan 19, 1683 and probated Nov 23, 1686 Susannah: She was second wife. Had previously been accused of witchcraft but had been acquitted. Her friend, Orlando Bagley (also an ancester) apprehended her. Upham's History says "Perhaps the head and front of her offending was that she had more wit than her neighbors.". She was also called the "Belle of Salisbury", because she was the most beautiful girl in town. See records of trial.
