Men in the French and Indian War - CT 173?; in CT 175? in "Heads of Families at the first US Census – CT”.

The genealogy from which this came says he m. "daughter of Andrew Lisk, born c. 1748" which would only match Sarah.

2. William Lisk (1.Andrew1) born Dec 17, 1738, Lebanon, CT, married Lydia Hyde, (daughter of Ebenezer Hyde and Phebe (?)). William died Jun 27, 1808, Lebanon, CT. Although Mayflower Bradford indicates that William Lisk died unmarried, one genealogy indicates that he married Lydia Hyde. William and his mother (Elizabeth Bradford) both died the same day-both estates admin. Jun 30, 1808 by Ebenezer Fitch (Lebanon & Windham CT rec.)In 1790 Census, an Andrew in Windham Co., Leb. CT, no info and an Andrew in Windham Co.,CT., 02-01-04-00-00 indicating him married w/children.

(?): It is presumed that Andrew married, and is the forebearer of some, if not all of the Central New York Lisks, including the parentage of William Phenney Lisk. Porcess of elimination of all known Lisks leaves his descendants, or those of Ebenezer, who might have been the brother of the 1714 Andrew (in CT). The link to William Phenney is made here so that further research might key more directly William Phenney to a definite Lisk (or Lisks) in the central New York area.

Family went to Jefferson Co., NY c. 1825. Possibly Morman.

In 1889 homesteaded 80 acres on the west side of Bluff Lake, Union Twp., Burnett Co., WI. Gertrude: Her father was wounded in the Civil War - his legs had been amputated and he died of his wounds. Her mother was a traveling nurse and could not provide for her, so she was put in an orphanage in Prairie du Chein, WI. When about 17, she met John Lisk. In addition to the 7 children listed, LDS reports three others (all female) as "Living".
