Members of the MA syndicate that bought townships in Tioga region. Built first log house west of the River Rouge.

Jun 15, 1854.  She could be of the Clement King line, also from RI. Only family information is that she had a sister named Hannah, who married a William Vickery.  There were some Vickerys in Owego and Syracuse at the time, but no William.

Chloe: Possible Widow White.  genealogy says she was the daughter of Lawrence Jenks.

He was a very tall man and weighed 370 pounds.  He moved from Smithfield to Spencer in 1775.  Another genealogy gives his wife as Olive Rice.

          111.  ii    Michael Jenks born Aug 16, 1773, Spencer, MA, married Mar 2, 1797, in Spencer, MA, Sarah Hunt, born Oct 31, 1774, Leicester, MA, (daughter of Aaron Hunt and Lavinia (Levina) (Lavinah) Howe) died Mar 5, 1852, Jenksville, NY, buried: Speedsville Cemetery, Lot #07-Old.  Michael died 1808, Candor, Tioga, NY.  Michael, with others, was an owner in the "Boston Purchase" in Owego, NY.  He was killed while rafting logs down the Susquehanna River at Jenksville, NY in 1808; foul play was suspected because his body and money were never recovered. He built a sawmill in Jenksville in 1803 and a grist mill in 1814. Sarah: She was called "the first Pioneer Woman of the West Owego Creek Valley.

          113.  iv   John Jenks born Aug 16, 1778, Spencer, MA, married Roxa Watson, born May 10, 1789, (daughter of Samuel Watson and Ruth Baldwin) died Sep 14, 1878.  John died Sep 25, 1823.

          114.  v    Isaac Riley Jenks born Dec 28, 1783, Spencer, MA, married Dec 8, 1816, in Spencer, MA, Dolly Loring, born Dec 30, 1791, (daughter of Nathaniel Thomas Loring and Sarah Watson) died Oct 2, 1869.  Isaac died Dec 21, 1838.  They resided at Spencer, MA, where he was postmaster, and later at Owego, NY where the will of Dolly was recorded Nov 23, 1855.  Jenks genealogy says resided at Jenksville, NY
