He was a very tall man and weighed 370 pounds. He moved from Smithfield to Spencer in 1775. Another genealogy gives his wife as Olive Rice.

Michael died 1808, Candor, Tioga, NY. Michael, with others, was an owner in the "Boston Purchase" in Owego, NY. He was killed while rafting logs down the Susquehanna River at Jenksville, NY in 1808; foul play was suspected because his body and money were never recovered. He built a sawmill in Jenksville in 1803 and a grist mill in 1814. Sarah: She was called "the first Pioneer Woman of the West Owego Creek Valley.
