Keep Swimming

Two frogs fell into a deep cream bowl.
One was an optimistic soul.
But the other took the gloomy view.
"We'll drown," he lamented without much ado,
and with a last despairing cry,
he flung up his legs and said "Goodbye."

Quote the other frog with a steadfast grin,
"I can't get out but I won't give in,
I'll just swim around till my strength is spent,
then I'll die the more content."
Bravely he swam to work his scheme,
and his struggles began to churn the cream.

The more he swam, his legs a flutter,
the more the cream turned into butter.
On top of the butter at last he stopped,
and out of the bowl he gaily hopped.

What is the moral? It's easily found...
If you can't hop out, keep swimming around!

Sometimes we feel that we are being crunched by life
We feel the stresses and the pressures of each new problem
It seems that there is no way out
We focus on the negatives
And the world forms a chorus
Of those who are too willing
To tell us
That we are forgotten
That we are deserted
That we are cast upon the seas
That is storm tossed
Without a rudder
Without sails
And that our ship will founder
And that we will go down,

Oh, no!!!! They don't use those words
But sometimes the words that they use
Are even more lethal
And we shiver and shake
Knowing that according to the circumstances
They are right
And we bemoan our fate!!!

We find ourselves pausing in the midst of this
And it is them that God reaches out
To Write His message on our hearts
One that we once knew
One that we once depended on
One that our hungry hearts take hold of
And soak up
In the same manner
As a hungry child food
As an empty heart
love
As a piece of bread
gravy
We become saturated with it
As it is repeated wiothin our hearts
Over and over again

"Fear not my child.
For I am with you always
Keep your eyes on the cross
And on what I accomplished
Then shift them to Easter morn
And reckon on who I defeated
When I arose
And remember that I set men free
And that where the Spirit is
There is peace
peace that knows no boundaries
Peace that is everlasting
But you must keep your focus on me.

When the waters rise
Call on me
When the fire is burning
Call on me
When they threaten you
Call on me
When they war against you
Call on me
When they are trying to bring you down
Call on me
In the midst of your trial's and your tribulations
Call on me
For it is then that I will travel
Through the dimensions Of time and space
And speak to your need
And remove the troublemakers
And cause the waters to recede
And extinguish the fire
And bring harmony
And win the battles
And lift you up
And put a song in your heart
A song of praise
A song of thanksgiving
A song of peace
A song of JOY
My song
One that is sung before the throne
When the Lamb is presented with the Book of Life

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper

Friends are rainbows of colors

ranging fom dark to light

The love and warmth that they bring

can make another's world bright

They love and comfort and hold your hand

and lift you up when things look bad

They don't always have to say a word

Just look to them when you're feeling blue

Friends open the promise of bright new world

Their presence speaks volumes just by being there

There once was a lady called Donna

Who was worth surely double honour

she worked on the card list

and did not desist

although at times she wanna.

So three cheers for Donna the brave

Who for us all has taken trouble to slave,

So when cards brighten our world

Her praise will be unfurled

and seen on the walls of our cave

This ditty is terribly trite

and the rhymes are not just right

but the sentments true

with thanks due to you

who are working with all of your might!
