William Gehling

William was born at the family home in Carroll County, Iowa. He was baptized at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in the nearby town of Carroll, and later went to school there. He was the twin brother of Catherine Gehling. William married Agnes Staiert on 22 January 1929. Together they had nine children:

1- Dorothy Gehling (married Louis Hoffman; together they had three children: Thomas, Kenneth, John)

2- Arthur Gehling (died at five years of age)

3- Raymond Gehling (married Lenore Lempher; together they had ten children: Michael, Gary, Susan, Sandra, Nancy, Daryl, Steve, Mark, Scott, Becky)

4- Marceal Gehling (married John Wittry; together they had five children: Barbara, Dqvid, Kevin, Keith, Kristy)

5- Alita Gehling (married Harold Lansink; together they had six children: Roger, Renee, Mary, Duane, Karen, Karla)

6- Larry Gehling (married Mary Lou Burl; together they had eight children: Julie, Daniel, Ronald, Patrick, Jennie, Ann Marie, Cathy, Joan)

7- William Gehling (married Janet Donner; together they had five children: Paul, Debra, Christina, Joan, Carolyn)

8- David Gehling (married Eileen Ludwig; together they had two children: Nicholas and Sara)

9- Philip Gehling (married Jayne Brinker; together they had two children: Jill and Amy)
