Anna Gehling




Anna was born at the family home in Carroll County, Iowa. She was baptized at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in the nearby town of Carroll, and later went to school there. She entered St. Rose Convent in La Cross, Wisconsin, and took her perpetual vows in 1930. Her name as a Catholic nun was Sister Mary Bernadita, later Sister Ann Gehling. She taught school in Wisconsin, Iowa and Washington. She died at La Cross, and was buried in the Herman Gehling lot at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.
