 | Once upon a time there lived a Norn named Jack. He and his mother were poor and lonely because most of their possessions had been stolen, and then, to make matters worse, Jack's father had been abducted by a Grendel. |
 | They were so desperately hungry that Jack's mother asked him trade their beloved cow, Bessie, for some food. |
 | Jack wandered around Albia until he met a stranger who offered to trade a sour lemon for Bessie. The strange Norn said that the seeds inside the lemon were magic. |
 | When Jack returned home, all he brought back was the sour lemon. |
 | Jack's mother didn't beleive in magic. She was angry that Jack traded Bessie for only one lemon. She squeezed the juice out of the lemon and made some lemonade. Then she tossed the seeds into the garden and sadly made a wish for enough food to eat. |
