Mary inherited 85 acres of land from her father Peter Eckel in 1884, north of
Peter's home, joining and to the east of Kate Chilton Moser property. Her
husband "Mack" tried to farm the place. They borrowed money on the property in
1884, and appear to have lost it in 1900. The whole family moved to Missouri
about 1900. This was know as the "Mack" Chilton place.
