A "C.P." is listed as a buyer of goods, Jefferson Co records, in 1858. Lived in
St. Joseph, Missouri about 1871 where son Ernest is believed to have been born.
Also of Garrett [Garrard] County, KY sometime prior to 18 Dec 1871, when Deed
to Thomas Biddle for his 1/12 share interest in the estate of James Chilton
deceased entered by his attorney in fact William Chilton. Dates in WD book 22,
page 517 are not clear. Instrument signed by William Chilton of Suwannee
County, FL on 18 Dec 1871. Actual assignment of William as attorney in fact may
have been some time earlier. A C.P. Chilton, Pvt. age 22, is listed in the same
Muster Roll (Confederate) as S.R. Chilton.
