Notes for Katherine Ann Chilton
Moved to Indiana in the early 1940's, to live with her daughter, their only
child. Kate was believed to be blind at the time. She died 17 Mar 1851 in
Indiana, and is buried with her husband William Moser in "Church in The Pines
Cemetery", White Pine, TN.
Kate was interviewed by Mildred Campbell Whitaker in 1940 for book "Sheltons
of England and America" published in 1941. Ms. Whitaker claimed Sheltons and
Chiltons were the same line, her ancestral chart for this branch of Jefferson
County Chiltons does not appear to be factual or correct. The material
presented from the interview is just somewhat of a mess. Kates memory of the
earlier ancestors is reasonably accurate, but as shown by Ms. Whitaker is
wrong.
