The census records for 1860 show Jane Chilton, age 60, living in the household
of Thomas Biddle, and her children; James [James Alexander] 26, Harriet 24,
Samuel 22, and John 20. Jane was a buyer of James estate goods in Dec 1858.
Jane baptized as an adult in 1826 at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Children;
Joseph, William, Garrett, Catherine, and Thomas baptized July 1, 1827, and
George in 1828 [1829]. Jane Chilton "Dower" is shown in the Jefferson County,
TN, court Minute Book No. 13, 1855 - 1859. This includes a plot of her 1/3 dower
land with metes and bounds, in the plot of James entire approx. 336 acre tract.
This plot has "corners" for the individual parcels making up the entire tract,
the location of Long Creek is shown flowing thru the tract.
