Farmer in the 12th district, Jefferson County, TN. Orphaned at the age of 10,
raised by his grandfather Abijah Scruggs. John Love Chilton's house burned
about 1939, destroying any family records. New house built by son Luther who
lived there with his family. Grandson John Love Chilton lives and farms part of
the original land. The Eckel family graveyard is on the farm property. Marriage
date from Jefferson County Records. John and family mentioned in Goodspeeds
